HBC Completes Glenbrook South High School

Henry Bros. Co. recently completed a $10 million, 200,000 square foot new construction/renovation project to the Glenbrook South High School Campus. A large new student cafeteria, eight new science labs, and a spacious new student activity center, highlight the latest renovation project completed in time for the 2007-2008 school year. Additional renovation included a new staff kitchen/cafeteria, student broadcast rooms, a reception area, deans/attendance offices, new lockers and windows.

Henry Bros. Co. constructs the first college building in Illinois to receive the prestigious LEED Gold designation.

Saint Xavier University, Chicago, received the "Green Building" LEED designation for its Arthur Rubloff Hall, the newest student residence hall on campus. A number of green strategies to help protect the Earth's natural resources were incorporated into the building's construction. Amenities include carpeting made of recycled plastics, a roof with 1,000 square feet of low-maintenance plants for heating and cooling retention and toilets with two flush modes, one for liquids and another for solids.

The hall's environmentally-friendly features include high-efficiency lighting, heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and insulation systems.

Henry Bros. Co. recently broke ground for a second "Green" student residence hall, to be built adjacent to Rubloff Hall.

HBC Completes Major Addition to Yorkville’s Public Library
Located at 902 Game Farm Road, the addition totals nearly 36,000 square feet, which is over nine times the size of the original facility. The new library features sloped ceilings with exposed wooden beams, clerestories and several large storefront window systems. The exterior is made up of brick veneer and stone, designed to closely recall the look of more traditional local buildings. Burnidge Cassell Associates provided architectural services for the project.
