It is with great honor that we celebrated Howie Mulford’s retirement from Henry Bros. Co. in April. We have been privileged to have such an outstanding field superintendent for the past 28 years. Howie has been well-liked and well-respected by subcontractors, owners, managers, and peers for the duration of his 40 year career in construction. Howie maintained a clean safety record for every project he supervised while at Henry Bros. Some of his noteworthy new construction projects include the newly completed Senior Suites of Bellwood senior housing facility; St. Joseph College Seminary; Tinley Park Park District Aquatic Park and Recreation Center; multiple projects for Fuchs Lubricants and Lincoln-Way Township High School District #210. Henry Bros. Co. Mourns Passing of Beloved Retired Leader William Henry Callaghan

William Henry Callaghan, retired second generation co-owner of Henry Bros. Co., passed away.
He was 93.

Callaghan was the nephew of Henry Bros. Co. founders Bob and Pat Henry. He and George Henry (son of Pat Henry) led the company for two decades, and sold the family company to current owners Bill Callaghan, Jr. and George Ferrell in 1987. Although retired, Mr. Callaghan maintained warmhearted connections with the company. He will be missed by many.

Respected for much more than success with Henry Bros. Co., Mr. Callaghan’s true legacy was exemplifying the values he cherished. Mr. Callaghan was a man of faith who remained active and supportive of the Catholic Church. He was a veteran who proudly served our nation during World War II. (While in service, he was a Flight Engineer in the Army Air Corp on 43 missions over the Himalaya Mountains traveling from India to China, carrying high octane gasoline. These missions were called “flying coffin missions” due to their dangerous nature.) He was a man who cherished family. He was the loving husband of 65 years to Maxine nee Rosano. Beloved father of Diana (Paul) McCoy, William Jr. (Nancy), Mary Ann (Paul) Czajkowski, Elaine (Mike) Randolph, and Patricia (Dan) Harris. Cherished grandfather of Colleen (Kyle) Condon, Deanne (Doug) McKenna, Katie (Ricky) Kohler, Kerry, Michael, William H. III (Nicole), Lt. Kevin U.S. Army, Daniel (fiancée Kelly Stewart), Kimberley, Christine, Tricia, Meghan, and Kaylee. Proud Great-Grandfather of Colin, Claire, Shane, Benjamin, and Gavin.

Because Bill was a man of strong faith, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, please pray the rosary; any memorials, please consider St. Joseph College Seminary or Marist High School.

Lying in State, Friday 9:00 AM until time of mass 10:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church 15050 So. Wolf Rd. in Orland Park. Interment St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation Thursday 2:00-9:00 PM at Kerry Funeral Home 7020 W. 127th St. in Palos Heights.
