Safety Training at Henry Bros. Co.
Friday, March 28, 2014 was Safety Training Day at Henry. Bros. Co. All management and field personnel participated in this important training. Topics included Equipment: Large Machine and Truck Best Practices, Asbestos Identification and Abatement, Stretch and Flex to Avoid Injury, and Field Management Tech Training.

Henry Bros. Co. welcomes Dennis Szafranski to the Estimating Team. As a Senior Estimator, he will enhance the construction/construction management company’s expertise in structural concrete estimating.   Szafranski brings over 40 years of experience in the construction industry, most recently as Senior Estimator with FH Paschen SN Nielson. His background includes estimating, preconstruction and project management from a variety of markets such as multi-unit housing, education and government assignments.

HBC Completes Gymnastics and Recreation Center

Henry Bros. Co. completed construction of the Park District of Oak Park's new 20,000 square foot Gymnastics and Recreation Center. Keeping up with the community's growing demands, the new, larger facility boasts 10,000 square feet of gymnastics training equipment, plus a gymnastics area, two multi-use studios, a second level balcony overlooking the training areas, and administrative support areas .

Henry Bros. Co. Completes Sisters of Mercy - Mercy Circle (CCRC)

Henry Bros. Co. completed the new, 130,500 square foot, 108-unit, LEED certified, ecclesiastical Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC). The complex consists of the full range of independent, assisted and skilled care living units. There are 42 independent, 44 assisted and 22 skilled/memory care units with indoor parking and other amenities including: dining, fitness and worship spaces.

Henry Bros. Co. completed a new 34,000 square foot seminary building adjacent to Loyola University's north shore campus. The building offers 17 semi-private suites for 34 seminarians and six private rooms for staff priests.

HBC Completes Glenbrook South High School

Henry Bros. Co. recently completed a $10 million, 200,000 square foot new construction/renovation project to the Glenbrook South High School Campus. A large new student cafeteria, eight new science labs, and a spacious new student activity center, highlight the latest renovation project completed in time for the 2007-2008 school year. Additional renovation included a new staff kitchen/cafeteria, student broadcast rooms, a reception area, deans/attendance offices, new lockers and windows.

Henry Bros. Co. constructs the first college building in Illinois to receive the prestigious LEED Gold designation.

Saint Xavier University, Chicago, received the "Green Building" LEED designation for its Arthur Rubloff Hall, the newest student residence hall on campus. A number of green strategies to help protect the Earth's natural resources were incorporated into the building's construction. Amenities include carpeting made of recycled plastics, a roof with 1,000 square feet of low-maintenance plants for heating and cooling retention and toilets with two flush modes, one for liquids and another for solids.

The hall's environmentally-friendly features include high-efficiency lighting, heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and insulation systems.

Henry Bros. Co. recently broke ground for a second "Green" student residence hall, to be built adjacent to Rubloff Hall.

HBC Completes Major Addition to Yorkville’s Public Library
Located at 902 Game Farm Road, the addition totals nearly 36,000 square feet, which is over nine times the size of the original facility. The new library features sloped ceilings with exposed wooden beams, clerestories and several large storefront window systems. The exterior is made up of brick veneer and stone, designed to closely recall the look of more traditional local buildings. Burnidge Cassell Associates provided architectural services for the project.
