Project

6001 W. Lawrence Avenue

Henry Bros. Co. is constructing a new 51,541 S.F., two-building, 48-unit development in the Jefferson Park neighborhood of Chicago. Located at the corner of Lawrence and Austin Avenues, the development will provide affordable housing for veterans, families, and people with disabilities.

Residential units will include studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments in two four-story buildings. Amenities will include on-site management, a library, computer lab, community room, children’s activity room, and storage. On-site services will be available to assist residents with health and wellness, employment, and financial counseling, among other programs.

The project is funded in part with IHDA tax credits, and HBCo was involved early on in providing preconstruction services for the owner. Additional funding was provided by The National Equity Fund, Inc., Com-Ed, and other grants.

The project is slated for completion in 2022.
