Laraway Elementary School
Laraway Community Consolidated School District 70C passed a referendum to finance a new school to replace the aging Laraway School building. The new 120,000 S.F. school, designed for twenty-first-century learning, was built on a more than 40-acre site and provides students with a technology-rich environment and student-centered learning.
The older school, having the typical problems associated with an aging building, was also in a high traffic area created by the development of new distribution centers in the area. The new building was built away from these high traffic areas to create a safer, supportive environment for the students.
