Henry Bros. Co. Breaks Ground on New Affordable Housing in Chicago

We’re pleased to announce that we have broken ground on a new 51,541 S.F., two-building, 48-unit development in the Jefferson Park neighborhood of Chicago. The development, at the corner of Lawrence and Austin Avenues, is owned by Full Circle Communities and will provide affordable housing for veterans, families, and people with disabilities.

Designed by Canopy Architecture+Design, the residential units will include studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments in two four-story buildings.  Amenities will include on-site management, a library, a computer lab, a community room, a children’s activity room, and storage. On-site services will be available to assist residents with health and wellness, employment, and financial counseling, among other programs.

The project is funded in part with IHDA tax credits.  Henry Bros. Co. was involved early to provide preconstruction services for the owner. Additional funding was provided by The National Equity Fund, Inc., Com-Ed, and other grants.

The project is slated for completion in late summer of 2022.

Other notable HBCo affordable housing projects include Kenzie Senior Apartments in Mount Prospect, Illinois; Spruce Village in Palatine, Illinois; Midway Pointe in Chicago; Senior Suites in Bellwood, Illinois; and Forest Oaks Senior Apartments in Forest Park, Illinois.
