Senior Estimator

We are seeking an experienced and seasoned individual for a full-time Senior Estimator position. The ideal candidate has at least 10 years of experience in construction estimating and is adept at conceptual estimates, budget updates, and final construction estimates. Also, the candidate should be experienced in managing both the GMP/negotiated and “lump sum” competitive bid delivery methods. Knowledge of the local subcontracting market is key.

Senior Estimator Primary Responsibilities:

  • Review project plans and requirements
  • Review bid documents
  • Determine labor and equipment costs
  • Analyze competitive subcontractor and supplier bids
  • Negotiate and write subcontracts
  • Prepare bid packages and scope review spreadsheets
  • Prepare conceptual estimates
  • Prepare budget updates
  • Prepare final construction estimates and budgets
  • Site visits and client meetings as needed

Senior Estimator Qualifications:

  • Ten or more years in the construction field with particular knowledge of estimating
  • Ability to handle multiple projects with tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
  • Knowledge of OnScreen Takeoffs
  • Knowledge of construction delivery methods
  • Excellent communication skills including writing, speaking, and presenting
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to “connect” with others
  • Possess creative thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Have the ability to nurture existing, and develop, relationships with architects and subcontractors
  • Self-motivated
  • Leadership and decision-making skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
