The Palos Hills Public Works Department celebrated its grand opening with an open house in June to celebrate its new 39,000 S.F. building at 7860 W. 108th Avenue. Commissioner Nick Oeffling was among the staff who greeted visitors while Superintendent Justin Williams gave tours of the building. Visitors also enjoyed free concessions, live music, and face painting in Bennett Park, adjacent to the Public Works site.
The partial two-story, full-service Palos Heights Public Works building has parking for 33 vehicles, three maintenance bays, a truck wash bay, brine storage, a workshop, storage, administrative offices, and accommodations for staff. The 7.5-acre site also includes outdoor parking, a fueling station, and additional storage. This facility and its staff provide service to more than 17,000 Palos Hills residents. Henry Bros. Co. was the construction manager for this project.
