Henry Bros. Co. (HBCo) participated in the September groundbreaking of Hope Manor Village in Joliet, a development that will provide long-term supportive housing for women recovering from substance abuse and addiction, particularly those caring for young children.
The complex will feature two, three-story, wood-frame apartment buildings with a total of 48 units. Hope Manor Village will be adjacent to the Hope Manor Joliet Campus which provides housing and services to veterans and their families.
As general contractor for the 54,345 S.F. building, HBCo worked closely with VOA Illinois, the project developer, WJW Architects, and Applegate & Thorne-Thomsen. Project finance and funding partners included the Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA), National Equity Fund, Inc., CIBC, Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago, Clocktower Tax Credits, LLC, Housing Authority of Joliet, The Home Depot Foundation, and ComEd. Completion is scheduled for fall of 2026.

Also present at the groundbreaking were Joliet Mayor Terry D’Arcy; Illinois State Senator, 43rd District, Rachel Ventura; Silver Cross Hospital President and CEO Michael Mutterer; Board Chairwoman, Housing Authority of Joliet, Dr. Glenda McCullum; Senior Policy Advisor of Special Populations IHDA Brenda O’Connell; and President and CEO, VOA Illinois, Nancy Hughes Moyer, who emceed the event.
