Henry Bros. Co. Honored by Envision Unlimited

The recently completed Envision Dream Home in Chicago’s Ashburn neighborhood has been named Henry Home to honor the commitment and generosity of Henry Bros. Co. who, as construction manager, played a pivotal role in all phases of its construction and completion.

Henry Home is a project of Envision Unlimited, a nonprofit organization founded in Chicago in 1948. Envision provides high-quality programs and services to Illinois residents with disabilities, regardless of race, gender, or ability to pay. According to Mark McHugh, President and CEO of Envision Unlimited, Henry Bros. Co.’s involvement was critical to making the project a reality.

Working closely with Architect Susan Turner of JLK Architects, Henry Bros. Co.’s Senior Project Manager Shannon Erickson coordinated the acquisition of materials and labor, drawing from both donated and traditional trade sources. Henry Bros. Co. also contributed monetary and in-kind donations throughout the three-year process. All groups involved in the home’s design and construction donated all or a portion of their services and materials.

Henry Bros. Co. President and Owner Bill Callaghan, Jr. attended the dedication and plaque unveiling, expressing his gratitude for the naming honor. “This project was a team effort, and we’re incredibly proud of the outcome,” said Mr. Callaghan. “It’s an honor and privilege to have this home named after our family and business. Adding it to our legacy is truly special.”

The Henry Home will serve as a residence for six adults with developmental and physical disabilities, allowing them to live more independently than they would in alternative housing options, such as nursing homes.
