Fireplace Inn Expansion

Henry Bros. Co. completed an expansion to The Fireplace Inn in Chicago’s historic Old Town neighborhood. This popular Wells Street restaurant and sports bar has been a staple of the community since 1959. It remained open throughout construction.

Set in what had been an outdoor patio, the new 2,700 S.F. extension provides much-needed space for the busy eatery. The two-story addition features timber construction and a translucent roofing system that lets in natural light, making the space feel more expansive. This extension is built with provisions for future expansion.

The HBCo team worked with the City of Chicago for sidewalk and roadway closures needed for crane operations and construction safety on the tight city lot.
