Lake County Detention Center

The $11 million Lake County Detention Center accommodates over 400 inmates in a state-of-the-art facility that meets all of the latest federal prison guidelines. HBCo successfully completed the addition and renovation when called upon to finish the project at a critical juncture when the original contractor was relieved of its duties.

In order to complete the job, HBCo had to utilize the second-largest concrete pump available in the Chicago area to deliver material more than 130 feet up to the top deck of this eight-story, 44,700 S.F. Jail/Work Release Tower.

In addition to the new tower, major renovation work was done to the adjacent two-story, 28,420 S.F. Secure Detention Facility.
