Project

Lyons Township High Schools Get Renovations and Additions

Henry Bros. Co. completed facility improvements at both the north and south campuses of Lyons Township High School.

The original cafeteria was gutted and a 10,000 S.F. addition was built in the adjacent courtyard. All equipment and materials had to be carefully maneuvered through a very tight 8 x 10-foot single point of access corridor. This presented a challenge that the project team described as “ building a full-scale ship in a bottle.”

The school’s performing arts auditorium, the Reber Center, was renovated with new seating, sound and light equipment, acoustic improvements, and the revitalization of the original 1920s orchestra pit. Other north campus projects included renovation of the kitchen, locker room upgrades, classroom air conditioning, new plumbing, and a new ceiling in the gym.

Projects completed at the South Campus included reconfiguration of the main entrance to create a safer and more secure entry into the building, renovated science labs, and new roofs.

Other miscellaneous updates included data/video bandwidth 10G, domestic/condensate piping/pumps, fire alarm system headends/rewire, and hardscape and landscape improvements.
