Project

New Building at Saint Joseph College Seminary

Henry Bros.Co. built a new 34,000 S.F. seminary building with seventeen (17) semi-private suites for 34 seminarians and six (6) private rooms for staff priests. The building features a chapel, full kitchen/dining room, library, exercise and game rooms, and administrative offices.

The new seminary was to be located adjacent to Loyola University’s north shore campus and the surrounding residential neighborhood. This required careful planning before construction began to address the logistical challenges commonly presented by a tight urban job site. Working on an Integrated Project Delivery basis, HBCo provided essential preconstruction scope, cost, logistical, and schedule input to assist the Owner and Architect’s decision-making process.

This well-planned and artfully-designed structure was the ideal setting for young men training for the Catholic priesthood.
