Henry Bros. Co. joined the developers, local officials, residents, and the architect to celebrate the grand opening of Taylor Place Apartments in McHenry, Illinois.
The 71,196 GSF affordable workforce housing complex was developed by Northpointe Development Corporation and Housing Opportunity Development Corp. (HODC). Knothe & Bruce Architects served as project architect and Henry Bros. Co. was the General Contractor.
The project features a three-story, 46-unit, wood-framed building and a freestanding, two-story, wood-framed townhome building with four units. An existing historic structure on the site was renovated and repurposed into a resident community center, fitness center, business center, and leasing office.
Highlights of the grand opening ceremony included comments from Taylor Place resident Kimberly Meadows along with Northpointe Development’s Jake Victor; McHenry Mayor Wayne Jett; McHenry County Board Chair Mike Buehler, Henry Bros. Co. Vice President of Project Development Tom O’Brien; and HODC representative Richard Koenig.
Funding for the project included IHDA tax credits and other sources of capital.
