Senior Suites of Bellwood

Henry Bros. Co. was selected by long-time client Senior Lifestyle Corporation to work as an integral part of the project team from preconstruction through construction completion of the Senior Suites of Bellwood. The new 87,670 S.F., wood-frame, four-story senior housing building provides 89 one- and two-bedroom affordable housing units. The building is situated on a roughly 2.5-acre site.

As the contractor, HBCo dovetailed preconstruction efforts with those of the client in the Qualified Allocation Plan (“QAP”) and award of 9% IHDA tax credits. These efforts, in part, consisted of developing detailed conceptual cost estimates based on limited design information.

The budgets that HBCo provided took sustainability criteria into account in accordance with “Enterprise Green,” “DCEO” or other “green” standards to ensure the most favorable application possible.
