Fierke and Kruse Education Centers Get Updated

Henry Bros. Co. completed classroom additions and updates to Tinley Park District‘s Fierke Education Center, K-5, in Oak Forest, and Kruse Education Center, preK-5, in Orland Park. Three kindergarten rooms totaling 12, 500 S.F. were added to Fierke. Four kindergarten rooms totaling 14, 900 S.F. were added to Kruse. The new classrooms feature abundant space, bright lighting, and increased storage space. Each classroom includes a private restroom sized for young students.  The new music/band rooms feature acoustical panels for enhanced sound.  All of the additions include mechanical and aesthetic upgrades.

Both schools have new appliances, and food preparation and serving areas. The remodeled cafeterias feature an outdoor-themed design with ceiling accents that resemble clouds and floor tiles that represent grass and a stream. A design accent in both is a floor-to-ceiling apple tree painted in the corner with pendant lights in red shades. Large windows complete the connection to the outside.

The hallways in both additions have new student lockers with color accents that are reflected on the ductwork of the open-concept ceilings. Both schools got new playgrounds.
