Rogers Elementary School Addition and Renovations

Henry Bros. Co. completed a two-story, 30,000 S.F. annex and renovations at Rogers Elementary School in the West Ridge area of Chicago’s Rogers Park neighborhood. Features of the new annex include science, art, and music classrooms, a student dining area and community space, a kitchen with two serving lines, office space, an elevator, and restrooms.

Connecting the new annex to the existing school, constructed in 1937, was seamless. This required demolition of an existing stairwell and the construction of a new foundation system in the existing building to support a two-and-one-half story, four-hour, fire-rated separate enclosure.

Additional work included MEP updates and the reconfiguration of the old kitchen space into a faculty workroom.

An outdoor playground, landscaping, and stormwater management system were also added.
